Returning from an inspiring whirlwind AURA QUE trip to Nepal last month

Laura here! I thought I would upload a few pics to show the varied work and people I meet day to day on my recent trip to Nepal.  Every day is different, and this time was a short whirlwind 3 week trip, scooting around between the 11 producer groups I work with in the Kathmandu Valley.

I caught up with everyone at NLT workshop, working on current productions, new samples, bespoke orders and treated to lovely homemade lunches with everyone.

I saw our next order of ALO mugs being produced (with afew colours already sold out on preorder!) and developed new vase designs as well as new bag designs ready for fabric/print/embroidery development!

I tried new techniques with our felt producers for new purse samples, and checked on our large bespoke felt slipper order with Anup and his factory.
With Bharat and the NLT team, we produced our exclusive range of summer bags with vintage Moroccan Berber blankets which will be on sale by the end of June!
I developed a new range of Hemp bags for next year, and some crochet allo nettle body scrubs for our new beauty range in 2020, and saw how the hemp/allo/banana fibre is processed on the carding machine outside of Kathmandu.
I'm working with Hari on some new checked dhaka throws/fabric for bags, caught up with Meera and her team who are crocheting our winter bobble bag orders, and managed a bespoke accessories order for UK designer Sarah Campbell.
I had a refreshing cup of lassi on a very hot day with the artisans who make our new brass jewellery capsule range.
I caught up with Milan and his team of felt ball makers, to document the making process, loved these little birdies (that unfortunately havent made our 2020 range!) and learned about how to make natural soap from local herbs/ingredients with Rina and her team.
Every trip to Nepal is inspiring, fruitful, as well as being exhausting in the best possible way! Im excited about our new product developments for 2020, watch this space!
Laura, AURA QUE
