Local Nepali brass remnants from cut metal work are melted down and used to cast these waste-conscious metallic beads. They are gently polished for a warm and subtle finish. Brass is the traditional material for the 21st wedding anniversary gift. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, of historical and enduring importance because of its hardness and workability. Brass can be recycled an infinite number of times with no loss in properties or performance. For the beaded necklaces, the macrame cotton thread is strong and decorative at the back, with the necklaces being long enough to put on without needing a fastening. Macrame is a form of textile produced using knotting techniques.
Handmade by artisans in rural Nepal. The production is coordinated by a small Nepali workshop affiliated with the Nepal Leprosy Trust, which employs marginalised people, giving them opportunities through work; the relationship with AURA QUE dates back to 2006. AURA QUE products are individually handcrafted and the unique story behind each AURA QUE product enhances its charm!
